Research and surveys in Greenland
The original impetus to establish the study group was to organise an expedition to the west Greenland breeding grounds of the geese in 1979.
Since then, GWGS has organised several further research expeditions, often with ringing as the main objective. We have tried to summarise the objectives and findings of each of these trips; documenting participants and locations; and scanning and making available publications (including unpublished reports) and other outputs.
With their permission, we have also tried to include summarised information about all other relevant Whitefront-related studies in Greenland by other researchers with the aim of recording as much of this historical information as possible.
